Whether you are new to the Ability Challenge or have been participating for years, here are some tried and true strategies from past participants for making your fundraising efforts a huge success.

  • Start by telling your story and/or connection with Achieve Tahoe. This sets the stage for a deeper connection with potential donors, making them feel part of your effort.
  • Send an email to those who’ve supported you in the past, expressing your heartfelt thanks and asking them to consider donating again.
  • When you reach key donation milestones, send updates to keep everyone informed and involved.
  • Social media plays a big part – post about your initial ask, share ongoing updates about the progress of your fundraising and any images or videos of your participation with Achieve Tahoe. These moments help keep the momentum going.
  • After the event, send personal thank-you notes—you can print them on Shutterfly—with photos of from the Challenge. Share how much you raised individually and as part of the larger fundraising effort for the Ability Challenge.
  • By keeping everyone connected through updates and gratitude, you’re able to build a community that is is invested in Achieve Tahoe’s success.
