On Friday, July 16th and Sunday July, 18th the Achieve Tahoe hiking team hit the trails in the Tahoe Donner Trail system, leaving from the Alder Creek Adventure Center. The trails were abundant and so well marked that some of them even had street signs! We shared the trails with lots of friendly hikers, cyclists, and people out riding their horses, and at one point we even got to meet and pet a horse. Our loop for the day had a fun mix of ups, downs, and nice shady flat sections where we stopped to admire butterflies, grasshoppers, and the biggest dandelions any of us had ever seen. Once we reached the highest point of our hike we took in the views of surrounding mountains before making our way back down, taking a detour through an aspen grove where we found a hidden ski lift chair that made for a fun swing. The Tahoe Donner Trail System has so much to offer and we cannot wait to be back.
