“Achieve Tahoe helped our 5 year old son with ASD [Autism Spectrum Disorder] learn to love skiing! After a few failed attempts in “regular” group ski lessons and trying to explain our son’s special needs to various instructors – a ski program director suggested we try lessons through Achieve Tahoe.

What an amazing program! Our son wanted to learn to ski, but he needed the 1:1 attention of the Achieve instructors and volunteers to ensure he was safe and able to effectively communicate back/forth, they also watched for his sensory break needs to prevent overload.

WOW- we were amazed at the dedication of the staff, kindness of the volunteers and all with a high-level of expertise in working with children and adults with special needs. I felt welcomed and enjoyed meeting other parents while we waited for loved ones. Our son is now able to ski unassisted with our family and he feels so proud of his new lifelong skill- this is something we 100% attribute to his positive learning experience at Achieve Tahoe. We feel fortunate to have found Achieve Tahoe and I hope other families and individuals with special needs can benefit from this wonderful program.”
