Meet the 2021-2022 Interns!
Hometown: Healdsburg, CA
Before joining Achieve Tahoe, I was a winemaking intern at E. & J. Gallo Winery. I graduated in the spring of 2021 from Duke University where I studied neuroscience, public policy, and creative writing. While at Duke, I was also a four-year member of the varsity rowing team. I grew up skiing in Tahoe, and those days on the slopes became the source of a lot of my confidence. I am so excited for the opportunity to share my love for the sport and support Achieve Tahoe’s athletes this winter. See you out there!

After graduating high school in 2012, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. During my time in the Marine Corps, I deployed three times holding various positions leading Marines, as well as repairing and flying on helicopters. After almost 9 years of service, I was honorably discharged in April of 2021. I am now enrolled at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill where I’m studying Public Health and Physiology. This past summer I volunteered with Achieve Tahoe at Sierra Summer Sports, and going into winter I’m excited to get on the slopes and continue making a positive impact on our participants’ experiences!

I received a Bachelors in Journalism and a Masters in Philosophy at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), all while a discus and hammer thrower on the Track and Field Team. While at UNR, I worked in the Disability Resource Center and led an initiative for specialized graduate student mental health resources. After graduating, I continued my love for philosophy and sports at Penn State University in the History and Philosophy of Sport program. This year, I decided to return to the west coast and combine my passions for sport and student accessibility by interning for Achieve Tahoe. I am ecstatic to work with diverse participants and assist in their snowsports experiences, while also enriching my own snowsports knowledge by working with both the participants and the Achieve Tahoe staff.
